Utah County Republican Party Convention
Before I die I want to really work on educating people about true government principles. Unfortunately, I don't know everything yet. I am starting with myself. I went to the Utah County Republican Convention on Saturday. It was exciting and exasperating all at once. I am so frustrated that the convention focused mostly on how awesome the Republicans are and so little on principles that in the past really have made the party great. The party is so lost now. The leadership of the party has way too much control and would have you believe that logistically it has to be that way- I heard that argument specifically. I don't buy it. I don't believe in party over principle- voting for McCain because we have to keep the Republicans in power. I will vote for the best candidate running because they are the best candidate not because they belong to one party or another.
Ron Paul is still not out. He can still make a big difference. He is quite unlikely to win the Republican nomination but with all of the trouble McCain is in legally I think many will wish Paul had come November.
I often come back to my little ones and wonder what I can teach them about this right now. Maybe nothing. Maybe they are too little to be taught about all that is going on politically but I can set the example of learning truth. Truth will prevail in the end.
